INSPIRATION FROM THE NATURAL WORLD: FROM BIO-ADHESIVES TO BIO-INSPIRED ADHESIVES
L’elaborato elenca gli organismi più comuni utilizzati nello studio dei Bio-adesivi soffermandosi sulle peculiarità di ognuno di questi e ponendo, alla fine, degli spunti di applicazioni pratiche in fase di sviluppo o già realtà concrete come i nastri adesivi di ispirazione dal sistema a sete del Geco. Questi dati, inoltre, evidenziano come questo campo sia ancora agli albori e, quindi, ancora ricco di scoperte e dalle potenzialità inespresse e di grande rilevanza in svariate attività umane.
The paper lists the most common organisms used in the study of bio-adhesives, focusing on the peculiarities of each of these and providing, at the end, some ideas for practical applications in the development phase or already concrete realities such as adhesive tapes inspired by the Gecko's setae. Furthermore, these data highlight how this field is still at the beginning and, therefore, still full of discoveries and with unexpressed potential and great relevance in various human activities.
