Abstract
In the last few years, the digital revolution has profoundly transformed all sectors of the global economy, from commerce and telecommunications to finance. The goal of the following paper is to analyze and deepen the technological transformation that affected the financial industry from various points of view, a phenomenon so disruptive that a term has been coined to describe it: Fintech (Financial Technology). The first chapter outlines the main characteristics of Fintech, the main regulation is framed and the possible risks and benefits for the entire financial system are described. In order to understand the dynamic nature of the phenomenon, its evolution since the nineteenth century and recent developments in environmental sustainability are illustrated. In particular, Green Fintech is a rapidly expanding sector and destined to become increasingly important in the years to come. The second chapter discusses the main innovations that fintech has introduced on the market in recent decades, as well as the associated advantages and disadvantages. Just think of all the news that have affected payment services and financial advisory services, up to the birth of alternative financing systems such as crowdfunding and the explosion of cryptocurrencies. The thesis ends with the third chapter, which presents the situation of Fintech within our country and the main realities that guide the system. The analysis outlines the path of the Italian financial system within the technological revolution and attempts to grasp the reasons behind the delay compared to the main competitors across the border, as well as describing the greater benefits expected from digitalization in the coming years.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
