Analisi della famiglia: istituzione economica e sociale

The thesis aims to study the concept of the family in Italy as an economic and social institution; the first chapter introduced the family as an institution, also considering the most relevant theories expounded by sociologists such as Durkheim, Weber, Marx and Engels; then going on in the second chapter to focus on the evolution it has had from being a unit of production to being a unit of consumption. The role it has played in the Italian economy is fundamental because throughout history it has affected various social and economic dynamics. The third chapter introduces Italian welfare, which is characterized by familism by default, i.e., not supported by the state, and the main welfare policies supporting families, such as family allowances, paternal leave and tax deductions. The needs and requirements of families will evolve, so it will also be necessary in the future to evolve the support provided to them, going to improve and adapt existing measures or create others always with the aim of responding promptly to family needs.

La tesi ha l'obiettivo di studiare il concetto di famiglia in Italia come istituzione economica e sociale; nel primo capitolo si è introdotta la famiglia come istituzione, considerando anche le teorie più rilevanti esposte da sociologi come Durkheim, Weber, Marx ed Engels; andando poi nel secondo capitolo a concentrarsi sull'evoluzione che essa ha avuto, passando da una unità di produzione, ad essere un'unità di consumo. Il ruolo che essa ha avuto nell'economia Italiana è fondamentale perchè durante la storia ha inciso su varie dinamiche sociali ed economiche. Il terzo capitolo introduce il welfare italiano, caratterizzato da un familismo per default, ovvero non supportato dallo stato, e le principali politiche assistenziali a sostegno delle famiglie, come gli assegni familiari, il congedo paternale e le detrazioni fiscali. I bisogni e le necessità delle famiglie si evolveranno, quindi sarà necessario in futuro evolvere anche il sostegno fornito a queste, andando a migliorare e ad adeguare le misure già esistenti o crearne altre sempre con l'obiettivo di rispondere prontamente alle esigenze familiari.
