Ruolo e competenze infermieristiche nel paziente affetto da mieloma multiplo

Multiple myeloma, despite being a relatively rare tumour in Italy, ranks second for the number of diagnoses in the classification of hematological neoplasms. Analyzing, first, what are the technical aspects that concern this pathology as therapies and symptoms, the thesis focuses the attention on what is the real nursing care reserved for this type of patients as well as how this disease affects the social aspect and the psycho-physical well-being of people affected in everyday life. The last part focuses on what happens once you leave the hospital, highlighting the path taken by patients living with this incurable disease and how they will behave once they return home.

Il mieloma multiplo, nonostante sia un tumore relativamente raro nella realtà italiana, si pone al secondo posto per numero di diagnosi nella classifica delle neoplasie ematologiche. Analizzando prima di tutto quelli che sono gli aspetti tecnici che riguardano questa patologia come terapie e sintomatologia, la tesi sposta l’attenzione su quella che è la vera e propria assistenza infermieristica riservata a questa tipologia di pazienti nonché a come questa malattia influisce sull’aspetto sociale e sul benessere psico-fisico delle persone affette nella vita di tutti i giorni. L’ultima parte si concentra invece su ciò che accade alla dimissione, evidenziando il cammino percorso dai pazienti che convivono con questa patologia incurabile e come essi dovranno comportarsi una volta tornati a domicilio.
