In this work a support that must be added to the smartwatch to improve the detection of the HR was realized. The process started with optical simulations (in COMSOL and Matlab) and it ended with the realization of the solution. Finally it was tested in both dry and wet environment and a huge improvement was detected. Thus, the solution realized managed to improve the detection of the HR during physical activities in both dry and wet environments.
