During pregnancy, cancer is relatively uncommon, with an incidence of about 1 in 1,000, although as the age of expectant mothers increases, it is expected that the number of cancers diagnosed during pregnancy may increase. In patients diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy, medical decision making must weigh the potential benefits to the mother and risks to the fetus. The objective of this study is to provide the state of the art of the existing literature regarding the diagnosis of cancer in pregnancy. Results will be presented regarding the obstetrical management of patients diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy, considering different classes of cancer therapies and outcomes.
