L'economia olandese del XVII secolo e la bolla dei tulipani

This thesis focuses on two topics: the economic rise of the Netherlands and the tulip bubble. The paper highlights how a country, which until 1600 was at the margins of the world economy, has undertaken a period of great prosperity till it became one of the most important centers for international trade. In the same period it is also important to remember the bubble that was created around the trade of tulip bulbs; an event that is still remembered as the first speculative bubble in history.

Questa tesi si concentra su due temi: l'ascesa economica dell'Olanda e la bolla dei tulipani. Nell'elaborato viene evidenziato come un paese, che fino al 1600 era ai margini dell'economia mondiale, abbia intrapreso un periodo di grande prosperità fino a diventare uno dei centri più importanti per il commercio internazionale. Nello stesso periodo è importante ricordare anche la bolla che si creò attorno al commercio dei bulbi di tulipano; un avvenimento che viene tutt'ora ricordato come la prima bolla speculativa della storia.
