L'Ospedale Civile di Montemarciano e la professione infermieristica nelle Marche degli anni '70.

Introduction The thesis first examines the historical Italian hospitals' legislation from the time of the foundation of the "Carradori Trusiani" Civil Hospital in Montemarciano (Ancona) to the definitive closure. Concurrently, it explores the normative and professional evolution of the nursing profession during the same historical period, in order to observe the changes and the evolutionary context of both realities. Objective The objectives of the study are multiple: first of all, it wants to observe the nursing profession in a small setting just like a small civil hospital in the Marche Region fifty years ago and then to see the contribution that nursing made to the services provided by the entire hospital. It also aims to demonstrate that nursing is a profession that holds its own culture and a science that has evolved continuously over the years. Materials and Methods The main sources are undoubtedly the oral testimonies of qualified witnesses, but significant contributions were also made, especially concerning the analysis of results, by web-based sources. Results It is clear how deeply integrated the nursing profession was within the social fabric of the community and how it was perceived as a "social ladder" within the community itself. Thanks to privileged witnesses, an interesting historical depiction of the profession in the 1970s of the last century was achieved, highlighting how the dense network of hospital facilities in the territory was appreciated and considered useful. Discussion The discussion presents testimonies to represent the profile of the professional nurse and the generic nurse during the period under examination. It then explains the meaning of social mobility and how the nursing profession once guaranteed the possibility of improving one's socio-economic status. Finally, the importance of territorial healthcare facilities at the time is discussed, and how these can be reconsidered in light of current health needs. Conclusions The objective can be considered achieved, although some primary documentary sources were not accessible due to logistical reasons.

Introduzione Nella tesi si prendono innanzitutto in esame la normativa storica inerente all’ospedalità in Italia dall'epoca della fondazione alla definitiva chiusura dell'Ospedale Civile “Carradori Trusiani” di Montemarciano (An) e, di pari passo, l'evoluzione normativa e professionale della professione infermieristica nella stessa epoca storica in modo da osservare i cambiamenti ed il contesto evolutivo di ambedue le realtà. Obiettivo Gli obiettivi dell'elaborato sono molteplici: il primo è sicuramente osservare la professione infermieristica in una piccola realtà come quella di un qualsiasi ospedale civile di paese nella Regione Marche 50 anni or sono e vedere quindi il contributo che la professione infermieristica dava ai servizi erogati dalla struttura. Si vuole inoltre dimostrare che quella dell'infermiere è una professione depositaria di una propria cultura ed una scienza in continua evoluzione nel corso degli anni. Materiali e Metodi Le fonti principali sono senza dubbio le testimonianze orali di testimoni qualificati, ma hanno dato un importante contributo, specie per quanto concerne l'analisi dei risultati, le fonti sitografiche. Risultati E' chiaramente emerso quanto la professione dell'infermiera fosse calata nel tessuto sociale della comunità e quanto questa fosse percepita come un'ascensore sociale all'interno della comunità stessa. Grazie ai testimoni privilegiati soprattutto si è riuscito a realizzare un'interessante raffigurazione storica della professione negli anni '70 del secolo scorso ma si può anche rilevare quanto fossero apprezzati e percepiti come utili la fitta rete di presidi ospedalieri sul territorio. Discussione Nella discussione vengono illustrate le testimonianze al fine di rappresentare il profilo dell'infermiera professionale e dell'infermiera generica all'epoca presa in esame, viene poi spiegato il significato di mobilità sociale e come la professione infermieristica abbia un tempo dato garanzia di possibilità di un miglioramento del proprio status socio-economico e viene infine discussa l'importanza dei presidi territoriali all'epoca e come questi possono essere ripensati alla luce dei bisogni di salute odierni. Conclusioni L'obiettivo può dirsi raggiunto, sebbene alcune fonti primarie documentali non siano risultate, per motivi logistici, accessibili.
