Questa dissertazione è da considerarsi uno spunto alla base del processo di apprendimento che un progettista è chiamato ad affrontare nel momento in cui gli viene assegnato un intervento. Indipendentemente da dove si operi o dalla dimensione del progetto, solo l’analisi può svelare i meccanismi che hanno determinato l’esistenza e le caratteristiche dell’area di studio, così da poter gestire le problematiche, da saper convertire le criticità e far risaltare i possibili outcome positivi. «Non mi sento di dire che la periferia sia tutta negativa. Al suo interno si sono dati dei fenomeni strettamente legati ai vari modi di vita contemporanei, espressioni delle popolazioni insediate e almeno per questo sono degni di attenzione.
