The use of siRNA (small interfering RNA) for therapeutic treatment of cancer is one of the most innovative technologies in the medical field. The study examines the RNAi mechanism, which uses siRNA to silence specific genes involved in neoplastic tissue proliferation. The clinical efficiency of siRNA is limited by obstacles such as stability or cellular environment penetration. For this reason, the nanocomplex formation with various types of nanocarriers, like liposomes, permitted the protection on siRNA and to overcome biological barriers, which prevented its entrance in the cell. Similarly to other emerging technologies, such as CRISPR, it is a developing procedure, on the other hand it has a brilliant future and, surely, it will be capable of revolutionizing the way we deal with the cancer.

Abstract
The use of siRNA (small interfering RNA) for therapeutic treatment of cancer is one of the most innovative technologies in the medical field. The study examines the RNAi mechanism, which uses siRNA to silence specific genes involved in neoplastic tissue proliferation. The clinical efficiency of siRNA is limited by obstacles such as stability or cellular environment penetration. For this reason, the nanocomplex formation with various types of nanocarriers, like liposomes, permitted the protection on siRNA and to overcome biological barriers, which prevented its entrance in the cell. Similarly to other emerging technologies, such as CRISPR, it is a developing procedure, on the other hand it has a brilliant future and, surely, it will be capable of revolutionizing the way we deal with the cancer.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
