OBJECTIVE: The aim of this paper is to search within the literature and guidelines for the best scientific evidence for the management of this very sensitive category of patients and to allow an understanding of their physical and psychological state. Stress the importance of nursing from the diagnosis of the disease to its follow-up. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A literature review was carried out, consulting articles from the best databases, mainly PubMed and Google Schoolar. In addition, the latest AIOM guidelines and articles on the website of the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC), the Ministry of Health and Nurse24 were reviewed. Only Free Full Text articles have been selected. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The management of a brain cancer patient is not simple but requires a holistic approach by a multidisciplinary team. The nursing figure has a fundamental role, following the patient and his caregivers from the moment of diagnosis until the follow-up by supporting them to improve their quality of life and to help them better cope with the daily challenges related to the disease by strengthening their residual functions. CONCLUSIONS: The nursing figure is essential at every stage of the therapeutic journey, and its expertise and sensitivity can make a significant difference in the lives of these patients. Nurses are often the first point of contact for patients, listening to their concerns and offering comfort during difficult times. This human connection is fundamental for the psychological well-being of the patient and their caregivers. Nurses also play a key role in coordinating care by acting as a link between the various members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring that the patient receives integrated and continuous care. The care provided to these patients should be patient-centred and include physical, mental and social aspects.
