The growing focus on environmental sustainability has made it necessary to integrate this topic into school curricula. This study examines environmental sustainability education aimed at Generation Alpha, with particular emphasis on the international, Italian, and Marche Region contexts. Through direct research, involving the distribution of a questionnaire to schools in the Marche Region (preschools, primary schools, and lower secondary schools), and a comparative analysis across different territorial levels, the research explores the teaching methods adopted, existing initiatives, and challenges associated with incorporating environmental sustainability into school curricula. The findings highlight the importance of a holistic approach involving students, teachers, local authorities, and communities to foster effective and lasting education. The thesis emphasizes the need for more impactful educational policies, innovative teaching resources, and experiential learning strategies to prepare future generations to tackle global environmental challenges.
La crescente attenzione verso la sostenibilità ambientale ha reso necessaria l’integrazione di tale tematica nei programmi scolastici. Si analizza l’educazione alla sostenibilità ambientale rivolta alla Generazione Alpha, con particolare attenzione ai contesti internazionale, italiano e della Regione Marche. Attraverso un’indagine diretta, tramite somministrazione di un questionario alle scuole marchigiane (infanzia, primaria e secondaria di primo grado), e un’analisi comparativa tra diversi livelli territoriali, il lavoro esplora le metodologie didattiche adottate, le iniziative esistenti e le sfide legate all’inserimento della sostenibilità ambientale nei curricula scolastici. I risultati evidenziano l’importanza di un approccio olistico che coinvolga studenti, insegnanti, enti locali e comunità per promuovere una formazione efficace e duratura. La tesi sottolinea la necessità di politiche educative più incisive, risorse didattiche innovative e strategie di apprendimento esperienziale per preparare le nuove generazioni ad affrontare le sfide ambientali globali.
