This thesis, structured in five chapters, analyzes the impact of social farming on active longevity, focusing on how agricultural activities and outdoor experiences, promoted through social farming projects, can promote health, well-being, and a better quality of life. In this context, particular attention has been given to the relationship between social farming and active longevity, understood not only as the extension of life, but as the possibility of living it fully and meaningfully. The qualitative research was conducted in the Marche Region through interviews with farms selected to participate in innovative social farming projects aimed at the elderly population. Among the interviewees are also representatives of INRCA (National Institute of Rest and Care for the Elderly) and CIM (Maria Montessori International Centre), whose contribution enriched the analysis thanks to their scientific experience in the field of social farming. The results highlight benefits on the physical, psychological, and relational levels of the elderly people involved, as well as a strong integration with the territory. In this sense, social farming can become a laboratory of cohesion and sustainability, capable of inspiring new models of welfare and local development.
