The thesis analyzes the impact of the FinTech revolution on the traditional banking system, focusing on the role of neo-banks and, in particular, on the case study of Revolut. After reconstructing the historical evolution of financial services and identifying the critical issues of legacy systems, the work examines Revolut's business model, its global growth strategies, and the adoption of technologies such as open APIs, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Through a comparison with other players (Monzo, N26, Chime) and an analysis of market data, it highlights how the combination of a “digital-only” structure, freemium pricing, and strategic partnerships allows Revolut to reduce costs, expand financial inclusion, and redefine the user experience. The research also discusses regulatory implications (PSD2, AML/KYC, GDPR) and the main operational and social risks related to the rapid FinTech innovation. It concludes that neo-banks will not completely replace traditional institutions, but will accelerate their transformation towards more agile, customer-centric hybrid models, underlining the need for a dynamic regulatory framework and widespread digital financial literacy.

Abstract
It concludes that neo-banks will not completely replace traditional institutions, but will accelerate their transformation towards more agile, customer-centric hybrid models, underlining the need for a dynamic regulatory framework and widespread digital financial literacy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
