This experimental thesis explores the effectiveness of integrating judo into neuropsychomotor treatment for enhancing emotional regulation and executive functions in preschool children. The sample consisted of two groups of 5-year-old children, with three boys in one group and two boys and one girl in the other. The study was conducted through qualitative observations and a battery of assessment tools (Movement ABC, APCM-2, BAFE, BRIEF-P, FEPS 2-6, NEPSY-II), which revealed several critical issues in the areas investigated. The treatment was carried out on a weekly basis, from mid-May to mid-September, with a three-week break in August. During the sessions, a specific judo setting was created, with tatami mats, belts, and judogi, structuring sports activities aimed at improving inhibition, attention, memory, and emotional regulation, all through a playful and neuropsychomotor approach. The theoretical framework and design of the intervention are based on validated methodologies, including the Sabbadini Method for setting organization and the neuropsychomotor approach, and the Benso Method, which provides a theoretical model for targeted work on executive functions and emphasizes, among other things, the importance of sport and martial arts as effective tools for stimulating these skills in childhood. At the end of the intervention, reassessment using the same tools showed a general improvement in scores, supporting the hypothesis that structured physical activity, specifically judo, can be a valuable aid in neuropsychomotor treatment for the development of executive functions and emotional-relational skills.
