ABSTRACT Introduction Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic neurological disease, complex and unpredictable in its course. Due to its progressive nature and clinical heterogeneity, it requires continuous, personalized, and multidimensional care. In this scenario, for the management of the disease, a care model oriented toward the centrality of the patient and an interdisciplinary approach, based on the synergistic collaboration among multiple professional figures, are fundamental. Through the sharing of skills, knowledge, and responsibilities, they contribute to the realization of a care pathway consistent with the person’s needs. Aim The main objective of this thesis is to analyze the role of the specialized nurse in the management and taking charge of the patient with Multiple Sclerosis, highlighting clinical, relational, and organizational competencies within the interdisciplinary team. Materials and Methods The study consists of a literature review carried out through the PubMed database and scientific journals. Twelve articles meeting the predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected. Discussion From the analysis, it is evident that the specialized nurse represents a point of reference for the patient and caregivers, ensuring continuity of care, constant support, and effective coordination within the multidisciplinary team. Their action facilitates communication among the different professionals of the team, promoting an integrated approach that enhances the competencies of each member and ensures a coherent, personalized, and patient-centered care pathway. Conclusions The review highlights the importance of valuing and strengthening specialized nursing competencies in the neurological field, promoting continuous training and full integration within the multidisciplinary team. Only through a coordinated, patient-centered approach, based on collaboration among professionals, is it possible to ensure quality, effective, and sustainable care over time for people with Multiple Sclerosis.
