Title: Gender Medicine: A Comparison Among Trainees. A Phenomenological Study. Introduction: Gender Medicine (GM) is an essential component of personalized healthcare, yet its integration into university training pathways requires continuous monitoring. This study analyzes knowledge and perceptions of GM among future healthcare professionals. Aim: The overall objective is to assess the level of knowledge, perceived importance, and educational needs related to Gender Medicine among students enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Nursing Science and in the 4th year of the Medicine and Surgery program, comparing the results with a similar study conducted in 2012. Materials and Methods: A qualitative phenomenological and comparative study was carried out by administering a validated questionnaire to a sample of 138 students (72 Master’s in Nursing Science, 66 Medicine). Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. Results: Findings show a good basic knowledge of the definition of Gender Medicine and a unanimous perception of its importance across all groups. The main barrier identified is the lack of specific university training. Consequently, more than 90% of students advocate for a greater integration of the subject into academic curricula. Conclusions: Despite a general awareness of Gender Medicine, the perceived educational gaps highlight the need to strengthen its teaching in university curricula, in order to train healthcare professionals who are more knowledgeable and aware of gender differences.
