This paper analyzes the role of the emergency care nurse in assisting women victims of violence, through a systematic review of the scientific literature. The objective is to highlight the skills necessary for effective, empathetic and multidisciplinary care, in a healthcare context that is often the first point of contact between the victim and the institutions. The bibliographic search was conducted on international databases (PubMed, Google Scholar), using the PICOM model and targeted keywords. Six recent studies have been selected that explore nursing practices, organizational critical issues and prospects for improvement in the management of victims of sexual and gender-based violence. The analysis shows the central role of the nurse in the early identification of signs of abuse, in the construction of a relationship of trust and in the activation of support pathways. However, deficiencies in specific training, inhomogeneities in protocols and difficulties in integration with psychosocial services are highlighted. The literature suggests the urgency of investing in trauma-informed training programs, in the definition of shared guidelines and in the adoption of personalized approaches, especially in the presence of additional vulnerabilities such as mental disorders or substance use. In conclusion, the nurse is configured as a bridging figure between trauma and care, whose preparation and sensitivity can make the difference in the way out of violence. The review calls for rethinking nursing as a professional and humane act, capable of promoting dignity, safety and empowerment.
