Background Cardiac arrest represents one of the main time-dependent emergencies in healthcare. The timeliness and quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers significantly influence patient survival. Both technical and non-technical skills of healthcare professionals, together with continuous training, are essential to ensure effective and safe interventions. Objectives This study investigated the skills and perceptions of healthcare professionals at the AST of Ascoli Piceno in managing adult CPR, assessing the role of training, experience, and professional confidence in the effectiveness of the intervention. Materials and Methods A single-center, cross-sectional observational study was conducted between March and September 2025. A total of 109 healthcare professionals who had attended BLSD (Basic Life Support and Defibrillation) courses were enrolled. Data collection was carried out using the validated questionnaire “Progetto Stima BLSD” (Gavetti, 2024) and analyzed descriptively using Microsoft Excel 2021. Results The sample consisted mainly of nurses (43.5%) and women (64.8%), with an average age between 41 and 50 years. Seventy-two percent had never attended ILS courses, and 79% had not taken ACLS training. Only 29% had consulted emergency care guidelines. Forty-six percent reported having acquired correct BLSD sequence skills, and 40% felt confident performing chest compressions. The majority recognized the importance of periodic recertification (68%) and the dissemination of CPR skills among the general public (59%). However, 62% had never actively participated in a real-life resuscitation event, highlighting a gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Conclusions The findings show a good perception of competence and awareness of the importance of CPR but also underline the need to strengthen continuous training and practical experience. Implementing regular simulation-based programs and refresher courses could enhance the effectiveness and confidence of healthcare providers in time-dependent emergencies, fostering a culture of safety and early intervention.
