Introduction Breast cancer represents a major public health problem globally, being the most frequently diagnosed malignancy in women. Significant advances in diagnosis and treatment have led to an increase in survival rates, leading to a shift in the care paradigm: from an exclusive focus on survival to a focus on patient quality of life. Objective This paper aims to analyze, through a narrative review of the literature, the effectiveness of nursing interventions in improving the quality of life of patients with breast cancer. Materials and Methods The literature search was conducted in the databases PubMed, Science Direct, Springer Natural Link, and Google Scholar, using keywords and MeSH terms combined with Boolean operators (AND/OR). Studies published between 2010 and 2025, available in full text, relating to the adult population with breast cancer and focusing on nursing interventions aimed at improving quality of life, were included. Results Nurses play a pivotal role in bridging the scientific validity of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) and the humanization of care in the oncology journey of breast cancer patients. A systematic review of the literature shows that nursing care goes beyond managing physical symptoms, but also addresses the complex psychosocial and relational needs of women, promoting empowerment and self-advocacy strategies. These interventions transform the patient from a passive subject to an active and informed participant, resulting in a significant improvement in their quality of life. Full recognition of the person beyond the pathology is essential for high-quality, truly individual-centered care. Conclusions Nursing interventions represent an essential component in the management of breast cancer patients, significantly contributing to improving their quality of life. The implementation of evidence-based (EBP) and person-centered care models promotes comprehensive, integrated care tailored to women's real needs. Keywords: breast cancer, nursing care, care and relationships, patient education, quality of life, empowerment, oncology nursing in oncology.
Materiali e Metodi La ricerca bibliografica è stata effettuata nei database PubMed, Science Direct, Springer Natural Link e Google Scholar, utilizzando parole chiave e termini MeSH combinati mediante operatori booleani (AND/OR).
