Le città mercantili di Ancona e di Venezia.

This thesis traces the evolution of the Adriatic Sea as a political and commercial space from antiquity through the rise of Venetian hegemony in the following centuries. Within this context, it examines the development of the cities of Ancona and Venice, from their origins to the sixteenth century, highlighting the differences in their respective political, institutional, and economic trajectories.

Questa tesi ricostruisce l'evoluzione del mare Adriatico come spazio politico e commerciale, dall'età antica fino all'affermazione dell'egemonia veneziana nei secoli successivi. In questo contesto viene analizzato lo sviluppo delle città di Ancona e di Venezia, dalle loro origini fino al XVI secolo, evidenziandone le differenze nei rispettivi percorsi politici, istituzionali ed economici.
