Pressure injuries are one of the most common conditions found in patients treated in acute conditions, in long-term hospitalizations, in rehabilitative facilities, in elderly homes and at home. The nurse plays a key role in the management of pressure injuries. During the wound management process, the health professional is required to identify in advance patients at risk for the onset of injury, apply their knowledge and judgement to better manage them and to ensure an adequate quality of life for the person. A review of the literature on this process was carried out to prepare the study. The review has shown that this is a particularly complicated process that requires a vast knowledge of the subject and how this requires a great effort to be integrated into the practice. Finally, the effectiveness of the use of negative pressure wound therapy was analysed by examining what is available in the literature.

Abstract
Pressure injuries are one of the most common conditions found in patients treated in acute conditions, in long-term hospitalizations, in rehabilitative facilities, in elderly homes and at home. The nurse plays a key role in the management of pressure injuries. A review of the literature on this process was carried out to prepare the study. The review has shown that this is a particularly complicated process that requires a vast knowledge of the subject and how this requires a great effort to be integrated into the practice. Finally, the effectiveness of the use of negative pressure wound therapy was analysed by examining what is available in the literature.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
