Introduction and objective Although CD is still considered a rare disease, meeting patients with it is not so difficult. The number of cases, in fact, has been increasing for several years. This pathology has a strong psycho-physical impact. The aim of the work is to answer the research question: "How does the patient with Crohn's disease live?". The main objectives of the thesis work therefore consist in identifying the compromised dimensions and possible effective strategies to deal with the problems arising from the disease. Materials and methods For the elaboration of this thesis it was decided to use the narrative review of literature as a methodology. The articles were searched in different databases. At the end of the research 16 articles were eligible and therefore considered for the review. Results From the 16 reviewed articles it was found that CD significantly impairs all dimensions of quality of life. The most frequently encountered problems were the following: alteration of body image, fatigue, anxiety and worry, social isolation. Analysis The limitations in everyday life caused by the CD can be contained thanks to a comprehensive patient care. In addition to purely technical treatments, constant education is of great importance. Discussion and conclusions The assured therapeutic education of the healthcare professional plays a fundamental role. Thanks to it, in fact, the patient at least partially regains his own autonomy, thus favoring the improvement of the bio-psycho-social spheres.
