This thesis work stems from an internship experience at ARS-TECH, a leading company in the manufacturing of advanced composite components for the motorsport sector. The main objective of this study is the engineering and industrialization of the front and rear wing assembly for a racing car competing in the Formula 3 Regional championship. Following an introductory section on advanced composite materials—specifically carbon fiber reinforced polymers—the thesis explores wing aerodynamics and analyzes the 3D CAD geometries provided by the client. The core of the work illustrates the specific engineering solutions applied to both the design and the process. By following Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines, strict aerodynamic and structural constraints were successfully translated into a practically manufacturable product. The document subsequently details all the industrialization and production phases: from mold and ply-book definition to the rigorous manual lay-up in the clean room, through the autoclave curing cycles, CNC machining, and final quality control. The project resulted in the development of a structurally efficient wing assembly compliant with FIA standards, demonstrating the effectiveness of integrating engineering design with real-world manufacturing processes. Ultimately, this work provides a comprehensive overview of the entire project from both a technical and managerial perspective. This experience proved to be a fundamental educational opportunity, successfully bridging academic theory with industrial practice within a high-level technical environment.
