Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) can persist into adulthood, affecting reading and writing performance. This thesis, through a narrative review of the literature, examined evidence on the influence of linguistic stimulus characteristics on reading and writing performance in adults, with the aim of identifying potential criteria for the progressive design of digital exercises. The review included 10 primary studies, examining parameters such as stimulus length, lexical frequency, lexicality, orthographic characteristics, presentation modalities, and stimulus repetition. The findings indicate that stimulus length is the most consistently supported parameter, while lexical frequency and lexicality also play a relevant role. The evidence suggests a possible progression from short, high-frequency, lexical, and orthographically simpler stimuli toward longer, lower-frequency stimuli, pseudowords, and more complex orthographic structures. This proposal provides a potential framework for the design of digital exercises and requires further empirical validation.

Abstract
This proposal provides a potential framework for the design of digital exercises and requires further empirical validation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
