Safekeeping of water resources and ecological sustainability are critical aspects that have become essential in the context of climate crisis and water scarcity. The increase in water demand and electricity consumption has become a problem that hinders the development of societies around the world. Among the innovative methods researched in this scenario, artificial intelligence plays a key role. This technology, currently applied countless fields, can produce promising results in water management and the reduction of energy consumption it entails. This thesis aims to apply artificial intelligence models, specifically machine learning, to optimize the management of the aqueduct of the Gorgovivo spring, located in Serra San Quirico. This project has been developed in a collaboration with Consorzio Gorgovivo and VIVA Serivizi S.p.A., aiming to create a system capable of optimizing spring management, minimizing electricity consumption and reducing water waste. To reach this goal, an in-depth analysis of the system's real data has been carried out and, based on the newly obtained information, an optimization simulation has been developed. This simulation is built with machine learning models at its core that make forecasts on the system's future state, which determine the optimal criteria to activate the spring wells. This work provides a foundation on which a comprehensive program can be built which, following appropriate testing, can be integrated into the aqueduct's actual systems as a decision-making support tool.

Abstract
This work provides a foundation on which a comprehensive program can be built which, following appropriate testing, can be integrated into the aqueduct's actual systems as a decision-making support tool.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
