Abstract
In the framework of Industry 4.0, cycle time optimization drives quality control toward dynamic in-motion inspections, whose deployment is often hindered by rigid proprietary software and non-deterministic network latencies. This thesis develops and validates an open, modular control architecture for a robotic cell equipped with a DENSO VS-6577GM-B manipulator and an RC7M controller, dedicated to handling optical sensors. Replacing the pre-existing LabVIEW interface, an object-oriented Python library based on the b-CAP protocol was implemented to seamlessly orchestrate robot kinematics and acquisition devices. To ensure deterministic synchronization between the Tool Center Point position and image acquisition, triggering was delegated to the controller's internal RTOS via spatial tolerance volumes and physical I/O switching, eliminating the jitter inherent to software polling. Experimental validation using a Basler industrial camera along a metric reference at various speeds confirmed high system repeatability, keeping deviations within tolerances and quantifying the systematic hardware delay. The developed solution extends the manipulator's operational lifecycle and enables straightforward integration with advanced computer vision pipelines.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
