Contemporary society is facing one of the most important and demanding challenges of recent years: climate change. The impacts of the current climate crisis have now become a global problem that therefore requires the commitment of everyone through the implementation of mitigation and adaptation strategies capable of facing and managing the effects it produces. The aim of the study is to analyze the influence of demographic and social aspects on the perception of risk on the sample in question. The survey, which is part of the Interreg RESPONSe project, was carried out in seven different pilot areas, namely in the four Italian regions Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, Veneto, Marche, Puglia and in the three Croatian counties Primorsko-Goranska, Šibensko-Kninska, Dubrovačko-Neretvanska. In a first phase they were collected the data through the method of administering questionnaires to the population anonymously and online, subsequently entered into the database and analyzed. Thus, the factors that most influence risk perception emerged, such as gender, age, education, human responsibility, access to the media and trust in science and public institutions, thanks to which is it possible to identify the characteristics of citizens willing to implement those mitigation and adaptation strategies capable of coping with climate change.

Abstract

ANALYSIS OF THE FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE RESPONSE TO CLIMATE RISKS IN THE ADRIATIC BASIN
