PROBLEM: The nurse, during the course of care of the cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, takes on an important role, since it provides "complete" assistance, of a technical / professional and relational type. In the literature it emerges that a good helping relationship, provided by the nurse to the cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, favors the reduction of anxiety, thereby increasing psycho-physical well-being. PURPOSE: To determine how effective is the use of helping relationship techniques and what impact they have on the patient's coping strategies. STUDY DESIGN: Narrative review. METHODS AND TOOLS: A data collection was carried out based on the analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of the help relationship proposed by the professional nurse towards the cancer patient. The main Databases were consulted using Mesh and Key Words terms. RESULTS: The analysis of the observed data showed that the "helping relationship", proposed by the nurse to the cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, can be defined as a "stress coping" strategy, acting as an improvement in stress management and a consequent need to interact more with the nurse thanks to the relationship of trust created. CONCLUSIONS: Knowing how to communicate also implies knowing how to listen, the figure of the nurse has precisely the purpose of establishing a Helping Relationship with the patient, which is able to support and support the patient in dealing with the disease
PROBLEMA: L’infermiere, durante il percorso di cura del paziente oncologico in trattamento chemioterapico, assume un ruolo importante, poiché fornisce un’assistenza “completa”, di tipo tecnico/professionale e relazionale. In letteratura emerge che una buona relazione d’aiuto, fornita dall’infermiere al paziente oncologico in chemioterapia, favorisce la diminuzione dello stato d’ansia, aumentando in tal modo il benessere psico-fisico. SCOPO: Determinare quanto efficace è l’utilizzo di tecniche di relazioni d’aiuto e che impatto hanno sulle strategie di coping del paziente. DISEGNO DELLO STUDIO: Revisione narrativa. METODI E STRUMENTI: È stata effettuata una raccolta di dati basata sull’analisi e sulla valutazione dell’efficacia della relazione d’aiuto proposta dall’infermiere professionale nei confronti del paziente malato oncologico. Sono state consultate le principali Banche Dati utilizzando termini Mesh e Key Words. RISULTATI: L’analisi dei dati osservati ha dimostrato che la “relazione d’aiuto”, proposta dall’infermiere al paziente oncologico in trattamento chemioterapico, può definirsi una strategia di “coping allo stress”, fungendo come un miglioramento nella gestione dello stress e una conseguente necessità di confrontarsi maggiormente con l’infermiere grazie al rapporto di fiducia creatosi. CONCLUSIONI: Il saper comunicare implica anche il saper ascoltare, la figura dell’infermiere ha proprio lo scopo di instaurare una Relazione d’Aiuto con il paziente, che sia in grado di appoggiare e supportare il malato nell’affrontare la patologia
