Primary Nursing: una revisione narrativa

NTRODUCTION: Primary Nursing (PN) is a valid alternative to the most common care models, such as small teams or patient-centered care. In fact, it is believed that satisfaction in the workplace for the nurse and the patient's well-being are directly proportional to the quality of care planning that is provided to the assisted person OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to demonstrate the effectiveness of the implementation of the Primary Nursing organizational system. Analyzing the results reported to the patient and to the nurse who implements the assistance MATERIALS AND METHODS: With this paper, we wanted to investigate the effects of the implementation of the Primary Nursing care model in hospital wards and outpatient clinics. Comparing it to other organizational systems and care models. In this regard, a narrative review of the literature was conducted by searching the main PUBMED databases; WILEY ONLINE LIBRARY; COCHRANE LIBRARY; ELSEVIER. Using the following terms Mesh “Primary Nursing”; “Primary Nursing AND Bed Sores”; “Primary Nursing” AND “Venous Catheter” OR “Bladder Catheter”; "Primary Nursing AND Infection" Of the 5020 studies found, only 14 were judged to meet the research question RESULTS: The analysis of the studies demonstrates how Primary Nursing increases the effective and perceived quality of care of the patient and nurse. Demonstrating how a strong therapeutic relationship is created between nurse and patient, and how the assisted person also improves from a clinical point of view, in the various departments analyzed. This is also thanks to the nurse's working environment which is improving. Nurses will be satisfied with their work and patients will be satisfied with the assistance received DISCUSSION: Primary Nursing proves to be valid for the provision of quality nursing care. Establishing a specific care planning for the patient's needs, such as to ensure the latter's holistic vision. Allowing the assisted person to feel totally involved in the quality service that the properly trained nurse delivers

INTRODUZIONE: Il Primary Nursing (PN) è una valida alternativa ai modelli assistenziali più comuni, come le piccole équipe oppure l’assistenza centrata sul paziente. Si pensa infatti che la soddisfazione in ambito lavorativo per l’infermiere ed il benessere del paziente siano direttamente proporzionali alla qualità della pianificazione assistenziale che viene erogata alla persona assistita OBIETTIVO: L’obiettivo di questo studio è stato quello di dimostrare l’efficacia dell’implementazione del sistema organizzativo Primary Nursing. Analizzando gli esiti riferiti al paziente e all’infermiere che attua l’assistenza MATERIALI E METODI: Con tale elaborato si è voluto indagare gli effetti dell’implementazione del modello assistenziale del Primary Nursing, nei reparti ospedalieri e ambulatori. Confrontandolo ad altri sistemi organizzativi e modelli assistenziali. A tal proposito è stata condotta una revisione narrativa della letteratura ricercando nelle principali banche dati PUBMED; WILEY ONLINE LIBRARY; COCHRANE LIBRARY; ELSEVIER. Utilizzando i seguenti termini Mesh “Primary Nursing”; “Primary Nursing AND Bed Sores”; “Primary Nursing” AND “Venous Catheter” OR “Bladder Catheter”; “Primary Nursing AND Infection” Dei 5020 studi trovati solo 14 hanno sono stati giudicati rispondenti al quesito di ricerca RISULTATI: L’analisi degli studi dimostra come il Primary Nursing aumenti la qualità assistenziale effettiva e percepita del paziente e dell’infermiere. Dimostrando come si crei una forte relazione terapeutica tra infermiere e paziente, e di come la persona assistita migliori anche sotto l’aspetto clinico, nei vari reparti analizzati. Questo anche grazie all’ambiente lavorativo dell’infermiere che va a migliorarsi. Gli infermieri si dimostreranno soddisfatti del proprio lavoro ed i pazienti saranno appagati dall’assistenza ricevuta DISCUSSIONE: Il Primary Nursing si dimostra valido per l’erogazione dell’assistenza infermieristica di qualità. Determinando una pianificazione assistenziale specifica per i bisogni del paziente, tale da garantire la visione olistica di quest’ultimo.
