Coronavirus disease (COVID ‑ 19) is caused by the virus called SARS ‑ CoV ‑ 2 and causes severe acute respiratory syndrome. This mainly affects the respiratory system, but COVID-19 can sometimes cause acute and chronic damage to the cardiovascular system as well. Respiratory complications have been well documented in the novel coronavirus disease (SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19), but an emerging body of research reveals that cardiac involvement is present and can sometimes be a predictor of a negative outcome. Acute pericarditis can be considered one of the cardiovascular complications of COVID-19. The prevalence and implications of this are not yet clear to date.

Abstract
The prevalence and implications of this are not yet clear to date.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
