Abstract
The choice of treatment in children with some types of brain tumor, including medulloblastoma, falls on autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. As the indications of the therapeutic protocol say, the patient must first undergo a high-dose chemotherapy treatment. Among the possible cytotoxic drugs that can be used for this purpose, one in particular, Thiotepa, requires nursing management and therapeutic education for the caregiver different from the common precautions reserved for normal chemotherapy. Through the review of the literature, it is assessed whether by applying the necessary preventive care it is possible to have a reduction, or at least control, on the incidence of cases affected by side effects.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
