Historical evolution of public expenditure: theoretical and empirical analysis of the main explanations.

The present work even before attempting to shed light on such a complex topic like public expenditure explanations, it tries to undeline the multiplicity of aspects that compose this argument through the exposure and the analysis of several theories that marked the history of the research in this field. Subsequently we will evaluate these theories through the review of papers that tried to empirically test those hypotheses we sow theoretically exposed before; lastly we will show our analysis of data and we will discuss the outcomes

Il presente lavoro cerca, prima ancora di fare luce su di un fenomeno complesso come la ricerca dei fattori della spesa pubblica, di evidenziare la molteplicità dell'argomento tramite la presentazione e analisi delle numerose teorie che hanno segnato la storia della ricerca in questo ambito. Successivamente si passerà ad una valutazione delle stesse tramite l'analisi di pubblicazioni che hanno testato empiricamente le ipotesi che prima abbiamo visto esposte solo teoricamente; infine proporremo una nostra analisi di dati e ne discuteremo i risultati e le implicazioni
