Powder metallurgy is a particular production process used to produce mechanical components which in recent years is finding more and more applications in the industrial field. This thesis work was conducted at the R.Biemme-tech company in Fano (PU), which deals with the production of mechanical components through powder metallurgy. In the first part of this thesis I have therefore illustrated the process of powder metallurgy, which has two main operations at its base: the compaction of metal powders and sintering. In the second part, I analyzed one of the main problems of R. Biemme-tech, that is the breakage of the molds for the compaction of metal powders; I therefore considered the main parameters involved in the process and, through a multiple regression, I investigated the relationship that each parameter has on the average life of the molds.
