Background: Groin pain is one of the most frequent injuries in athletes, especially in sports where strong accelerations, landings, jumps and kicks are performed. It is a serious problem for most athletes as, after anterior cruciate and injury breakage which requires more time to return to sporting activity. Groin pain can be caused by different anatomical structures, mainly there are two main causes: intra-articular, referring to the hip joint, and extra-articular, referring to the neuromyofascial structures of the inguinal complex. Type of study: Comparative study Objective: to evaluate through the scientific literature the best prevention and treatment of groin pain, and compare it to clinical practice carried out on competitive roller figure skaters. To demonstrate also how the problem of groin pain is also widespread in sports athletes not mentioned in literature, such as figure skating on rollers. Methods: Online databases such as PubMed, PEDRo and The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews - Cochrane Library were examined. Randomized clinical trials, reviews and meta-analyzes were chosen with publication in particular in English text at the latest 10 years ago concerning subjects with groin treated in a conservative manner. In addition, as a personal contribution to the study, I created and subsequently administered an online survey to competitive figure skating athletes on rollers. Results: It was seen that most of the studies reported an improvement in the outcomes investigated in the groups of patients treated through multimodal therapies; furthermore, the results of the online questionnaire CONFIRMED the scientific evidence. Keywords: groin pain, figure skating, rehabilitation, prevention, conservative treatment, physiotherapy.
Metodi: sono state esaminate banche date online quali PubMed, PEDRo and The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews - Cochrane Library. Key word: groin pain, pattinaggio artistico, riabilitazione, prevenzione, trattamento conservativo, fisioterapia.
