Introduction: Handover is a transmission of clinical and professional responsibility information. It is no coincidence that communication is of fundamental importance, as it is defined as a sort of relationship in which an exchange of thoughts, opinions, experiences, sensations and feelings takes place between two or more subjects, increasing shared knowledge. But although handover has been described as a formal and organized method of sharing information, this does not happen in the emergency room and this can lead to incorrect filing of documents. So the goal is the improvement of Nursing Handover in the Emergency Department of the "Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona" Hospital. Materials and Methods: the study foresees a systematic review of the literature on databases such as PubMed, SCOPUS and Cinhal. Observational and quasi-experimental studies are included. The PICO framework was used (P: participants = emergency room nurses, I: interventions = introduction of standardized models, C: comparison = classic nursing delivery without the use of a standardized model, O: outcomes = improvement in the transmission of nursing deliveries in order to guarantee a higher level of safety for the clients). Results: the studies showed that the most effective nursing interventions were based on the use of standardized processes that facilitated the transmission of nursing instructions. Analysis: the articles underlined the importance of improving the skills of professionals in interprofessional communication, using structured processes and simulated situations; especially within the emergency department. Discussion and conclusions: within the operating unit there is no effective standardized method that allows operators to acquire safety, especially during the handover of nursing duties. It is therefore necessary to design a structured tool that uniforms this process among professionals. Keywords: Handovers. nurses. Nursing deliveries. Emergency room
Infermieri. Consegne Infermieristiche. Pronto Soccorso
