Alzheimer's (AD) is a multifactorial disease, not only due to the multiple processes that lead to its development, but also due to the numerous risk factors associated with it. Based on numerous evidence supporting a multi-target approach, particular attention has been paid to nutraceutical compounds, containing bioactive molecules, such as polyphenols, prebiotics and probiotics that promote neurological well-being. Bioactive compounds are also contained in some foods and this has led to the inclusion of diet in risk factors that can be modified through preventive approaches.

Abstract
Alzheimer's (AD) is a multifactorial disease, not only due to the multiple processes that lead to its development, but also due to the numerous risk factors associated with it. Based on numerous evidence supporting a multi-target approach, particular attention has been paid to nutraceutical compounds, containing bioactive molecules, such as polyphenols, prebiotics and probiotics that promote neurological well-being. Bioactive compounds are also contained in some foods and this has led to the inclusion of diet in risk factors that can be modified through preventive approaches.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
