The aim of this thesis is to evaluate and compare the remineralizing effectiveness of four professional remineralizing agents on artificial initial enamel lesions, using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) combined with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) as the method of analysis. The thesis is structured into four parts. The first part describes the structural characteristics of enamel, as well as the process leading to its formation. The second part focuses on initial enamel lesions, examining their structure at both the macroscopic and microscopic levels, the factors that determine their formation, their classification, diagnostic techniques, preventive strategies, and available treatments, with an emphasis on remineralizing agents. The third part describes the technique employed to evaluate the remineralization potential of the tested agents. The fourth part presents the experimental procedure and analyzes the results obtained, with the aim of drawing conclusions on the different modes of professional remineralization and proposing an effective clinical protocol to halt and prevent the progression of carious lesions.
