This thesis analyzes how a differentiation strategy represents the determining factor for the competitive advantage achieved by Honda in the motorcycle sector, with a specific focus on the scooter market. The research centers on a market-leading product for over twenty years: the Honda SH range. It examines how the Japanese giant managed to build a dominant position based not on price competition, but on a solid differentiation strategy, offering a premium product that stands out clearly from its competitors. The analysis is structured into three parts: Theoretical Framework: The concept of competitive advantage is outlined using M. Porter's theories and generic strategies, integrated with the VRIO framework. Company Analysis: This section delves into Honda's history, manufacturing philosophy, and strategic positioning, highlighting how an obsession with quality, technological diversification, and a commitment to sustainability have consolidated the brand's reputation. Case Study (Honda SH): The third chapter applies these theoretical concepts to the SH range. It demonstrates how operational excellence, continuous innovation, and a customer-centric approach have made this model a consistent success, rendering Honda's leadership highly difficult for competitors to replicate. In conclusion, the paper highlights how the success of the Honda SH is the result of long-term strategic consistency, capable of transforming a product into an icon of urban mobility.
