The spread of artificial intelligence is leading to significant transformations to the customer journey, affecting the way consumers search for information, evaluate alternatives, and make purchasing decisions. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate the impact of these tools on the purchasing process and to highlight their implications for firms. Firms are, in fact, required to adapt to an evolving environment by developing ways to increase their visibility and discoverability among users who turn to generative AI systems, as well as by adopting proprietary AI solutions capable of supporting customers throughout the purchasing process. The two perspectives of consumers and businesses were examined through an analysis of scientific literature, industry sources, and managerial and professional sources. Based on the analysis conducted, a conceptual framework was developed to connect the dimensions examined, which are often addressed separately. Its contribution lies in providing an integrated view of the phenomenon, thereby supporting a systemic understanding of the transformations taking place.

Abstract
Its contribution lies in providing an integrated view of the phenomenon, thereby supporting a systemic understanding of the transformations taking place.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
