This thesis investigates the evolution of the hydraulic conductivity of different soils treated with 2% fly ash activated with 2% quicklime. The experimental study included material characterization, Standard Proctor compaction tests and permeability tests carried out under different water content and curing conditions. The results highlighted the influence of particle-size distribution, clay fraction and compaction conditions on the hydraulic behaviour of the treated soils, as well as the evolution of hydraulic conductivity during curing. Based on the experimental results, an empirical model was developed to describe the variation of hydraulic conductivity over time and to predict its long-term behaviour. The proposed model distinguishes between predominantly sandy and clayey soils and uses easily determined soil parameters, with the aim of reducing the number of experimental tests required to estimate the long-term hydraulic conductivity.

Abstract
The proposed model distinguishes between predominantly sandy and clayey soils and uses easily determined soil parameters, with the aim of reducing the number of experimental tests required to estimate the long-term hydraulic conductivity.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
