The main purpose of the thesis is a theoretical and empirical analysis about the role played by the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in business processes with attention to the manufacturing sector, the beating heart of the Italian economy. The question is about how the Artificial Intelligence tools, applied in a business environment, have represented (and still represents) the Disruptive element of past paradigms and therefore the keystone in the transition towards Industrie 4.0 and the most developed Advanced Business Analytics systems. Right now, referring to the existing literature on the subject, it may not always be immediately clear whats really new in the fourth industrial revolution with respect to the previous one, with the risk of underestimating the opportunities and potential benefits for the business and for the progress of society in general. For this purpose, the collaboration with A3Cube has proved to be a precious source of content and added value to the thesis: an Italian company but based in San Jose, it has been designing machines trained for the activities of learning, analysis and computing of large quantities of data for the past 20 years, that is much longer than when we started talking about these topics as hot topics. Given the high complexity and relative novelty of the subject, the 4 chapters in which the paper is divided have been structured to constantly bring the theory back to the practical examples from the A3Cube experience. Chapter 1, examining the components of the definition of Industrie 4.0, it clarifies the role played by the IoT at the base of the RAMI4.0 model (Reference Architecture Model Industrie4.0), analyzes the 5 levels of a CPS and deepens the impact of the Smart Factory in the Lean Manufacturing paradigm. The second chapter deals with the issue of the evolution of Business Intelligence systems and how Artificial Intelligence, the basis for predictive and prescriptive analysis, has enabled the development of Advanced business analytics. We want to define Chapter 3 as Made in A3Cube since it is entirely the result of the knowledge learned both during the collaboration with the company and, in particular, during the participation in the AI & Big Data Expo Europe 2019 (Amsterdam, 19-20 June 2019) where A3Cube and Emilio Billi took part, respectively, as Platinum Sponsor and Speaker. This chapter, as well as telling the company history and business model, reveals the Recipe for the factory of the future and why Data and Computational Power are its fundamental ingredients. Chapter 4 moves from theory to practice with the exposition of the Alfa business case, a company from Northern Italy specialized in the field of silk weaving and today one of the largest B2B producers in the world of printed fabrics, plain and yarn-dyed, jacquard for clothing, supplier of major fashion houses and pret-à-porter. The project, entirely conceived and developed in collaboration with A3Cube, concerns the realization of a predictive system based on Artificial Intelligence to optimize the warehouse management activity, according to the potential and future expected demand. Finally, the Appendix reports the interview with Antonella Rubicco (A3Cube CEO and co-founder) about the integration experience in the Silicon Valley market.

Abstract
The main purpose of the thesis is a theoretical and empirical analysis about the role played by the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in business processes with attention to the manufacturing sector, the beating heart of the Italian economy. The question is about how the Artificial Intelligence tools, applied in a business environment, have represented (and still represents) the Disruptive element of past paradigms and therefore the keystone in the transition towards Industrie 4.0 and the most developed Advanced Business Analytics systems.
