The Master's degree course in sciences of health care professions LM/STN3 groups together 5 health professions: Orthopedic Technician, Hearing Aid Technician, Cardiocirculatory Pathophysiology and Cardiovascular Perfusion Technician, Dental Hygienist and Dietitian. In recent academic years there have been numerous registrations of Orthopedic Technicians at the Polytechnic University of Marche, reaching as many as 6 registrations out of 13 in the 2021-22 academic year. Following these new conditions, the Degree Course has started an analysis of possible teachings to be included that are more oriented towards the peculiarities and activities of the Orthopedic Technician. Hence the decision to explore the field of Assistive Technologies and Bionics. These issues of particular interest for the figure of the Orthopedic Technician are also of general interest for all healthcare professions, in particular the technical ones, as Assistive Technologies include the most recent technical innovations, from electronics to information technology to new materials. Starting from current legislation and following the ANVUR indications for the quality planning of study courses, a training intervention was designed on topics of interest to orthopedic technicians, but useful for all students in technical care sciences, divided into two modules : • the first of a general nature on assistive devices, describing classification criteria, typologies, prescriptive and application methods, also making reference to important international initiatives in the field of AT "Assistive Technologies". • the second of a more specific nature on prosthetics which, starting from current technology, indicates the innovations and perspectives on innovative medical technologies and techniques in the field of bionics, fields in which research activity has had a very promising development in recent years. Both modules provide content both in terms of lectures and laboratory and internship activities. All divided into teaching units which can be carried out with a different level of detail based on the hours available for them.
