Background: Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder (DSA) that manifests as a difficulty learning to read, write, and do calculations. In particular, dyslexia is a neurodevelopmental disorder. In literature there are few studies about the experience of the students of Nursing with DSA in Italy, and among them all have a focus on clinical internship; so the need to explore the experience in various settings was born. Objective: The main objective of the study is therefore to explore the experiences and feelings of nursing students with DSA during their learning path. In addition, a secondary objective is to investigate what educational strategies are to be used in students with DSA to develop improvement strategies. Materials and Methods: a qualitative phenomenological study has been carried out, through the administration of the narrative diary to a sample of fifteen students with DSA belonging to different universities of Nursing of the national territory. Results: the analysis of the results identified seven thematic categories: university services, teaching activities, internships, care activities, support figures, disclosure and the future. Many different experiences have emerged, each with a different background, but almost all united by the same discomfort, sometimes, to feel misunderstood and excluded. Conclusions: the experiences that have emerged are very impactful in today’s reality, highlighting the problems and hardships that still exist, underlining in some contexts, still little knowledge of DSA in clinical and university. The results confirm what is present in the literature, such as the disclosure of the DSA, which is confirmed to be very complex and distressing. The students, in their path, used strategies.
