The thesis analyzes the dynamic correlation between U.S. stock and bond returns (1990-2025), historically unstable and reversed since 2022. The multifactor model by Molenaar, Sénéchal, Swinkels and Wang is applied, explaining this correlation through five macro-financial factors (real rate, expected inflation, bond and equity risk premia, expected dividend growth), estimated via OLS regression and a GARCH-DCC model. Comparison with a bivariate DCC benchmark shows the multifactor model correctly replicates its directionality, though with smaller oscillations due to the time-invariance of the coefficients. The model's limitations and possible future developments are discussed.

Abstract
The model's limitations and possible future developments are discussed.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
